Motel Rocks

RecentlyUpdated2x

Here's a little mid-week treat courtesy of Motel: In honor of Memorial Day, you can use promotion code MOTEL40 to receive 40% off select items! That means that mountain print skirt you've been eying for an eternity? You can get it! Oh...you weren't eying that skirt? Hmm, that's right because that was me, and unfortunately I'm still not going to be able to get it (same goes for the floral dress and romper that I want) because as of right now I am in the poor house. So please do me a favor and take advantage of the beauty that is 40% off of Motel so I can live vicariously through you. I would really appreciate it.

Kruger In Cannes

Diane Kruger is the closest thing to human perfection that exists - it's a fact. Here are a few of her looks from throughout the week as she attends Cannes.

Even if she isn't your favorite, you have to admit, Diane Kruger is way consistent when it comes to keeping her fashion game up!

Vintage Gisele

Today was one of those days where I just had nothing to post, therefore, I had to utilize my personal blog philosophy of "when in doubt, post a supermodel". So, here's Gisele in an editorial for W back in 1999.

Anyone else think she should go back to her natural hair color? I'm using these as evidence to say she needs to go back to her darker locks!

Monday Must-Have

This leopard chain skirt from Pixie Market is the perfect piece to add some fun and color to your wardrobe, but more impressive than the print is the price because at just $39 I think it may be the cheapest thing I've ever seen on Pixie Market! The combination of scarf print + affordability definitely wins me over

Coco

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

Coco Rocha in the infamous "they photoshopped me nude(okay,'appear to be wearing less')"-editorial for Vogue Brazil. I feel for Coco, but I will say that I think this is one of the better editorials she has done in a while, and that is just going off the basis that I actually like it since I am not usually a fan of her work. However with that being said, close your damn mouth, Coco!

Met Gala Favorites

Did we all watch the live feed of the Met Gala red carpet yesterday? I did, and I enjoyed every somewhat-grainy second of it! I've tried compiling a top 3...that turned into a top 5...which then grew to 8. So instead, I've just compiled a few looks that stuck out to me but in no way does my dress-love begin and end with these few (I mean, Beyonce in Givenchy anyone?). Now in no particular order, here are some of my favorites from The Met Gala:

Photobucket
Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan.
I never give her enough red carpet credit. She continues to make more of a name for herself fashion-wise, yet I'm always surprised when she ends up one of my favorites! Maybe it's just that whole CW-star thing?
Photobucket
The stunner that is Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren
She'd look gorgeous in anything but this beaded gown takes it to a new level
Photobucket
Jessica Stam in Dior Haute Couture
Including this one was debatable as I'm not head over heels, but the color+structuring won me over.
Photobucket
Candice Swanepoel in Rag & Bone
No explanation needed. Just look at the back details!
Photobucket
Kate Bosworth in Prada
The minute photos of Kate became available they were already popping up all over the blogs, and for good reason. I couldn't help myself either and had to include her in this post. It isn't nearly as formal/over the top as others but it just works so well.
Photobucket
Christina Ricci in Thakoon
The only glimpse I got of this on the live feed was when her back was to camera, giving the perfect view of that oversize bow, and immediately I was smitten.
Photobucket
Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe
One word: DRAMA. KK brought the vintage glam in this and I could not get over it when I saw her walk the red carpet, and I'm still not over it now! Sure, it is a lot of look, but it's the Met Gala and I think she is oozing perfection with this one.

Honorable Mentions: January Jones in Versace, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry, Gwyneth Paltrow in Prada, Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabbana, and Anna Wintour with the gold lobster on her skirt <3 that just made me smile

The Marketplace

ASOS Marketplace is nothing new, but I never really gave it a serious look-through before because when I'm on ASOS...I want ASOS. Although today, due to both boredom and curiosity, I decided I'd have a quick browse. Bad idea. This is why I banned myself from Etsy. People are selling stuff way too cheap which means for once I can actually afford things which means I'm going to be forever broke in about 2 seconds once I send through that PayPal info. I just can't help myself!

Golden Pearl Collar Necklace - $3.16
A perfect example of what I'm talking about; I don't even like pearls (oh wait...ignore that first necklace) so not by any means would this be a must for me but for $3.16? Why not!

Oddly enough all the clothes put up on ASOS Marketplace that I saw weren't really doing it for me...At least that's something I won't end up spending on!

(Edit: Sorry about the mismatched photo sizes! I actually re-sized the 3 of them and then when I posted they were back to their original size! Oh technology...)
